Meghan Markle and Harry told they made big mistake after ‘asking for everything at once’

MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have been scolded by a royal commentator for leaving the Royal Family and signing a deal with Netflix.

Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in March before moving to LA with their son, Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since signed a deal with Netflix which could see them earn more than $250million (£190million). But royal commentator Margaret Holder said the royal couple should not have signed the deal and stuck to their duties instead.

Speaking to LBC, Ms Holder said: “It is all about PR now with Harry and Meghan.

“Basically they shouldn’t have done the Netflix deal because they shouldn’t have left the country.

“They should have buckled down and done their duty and used time and patience and not asked for everything all at once.

“Things might have worked out better for them.”

Royal expert Marlene Koenig has warned the royal couple against giving an interview on royal life as she compared it to Princess Diana’s Panorama interview.

Speaking to about the bombshell Diana tell-all, Ms Koenig said: “It backfired for her and it backfired for Charles.

“It certainly helped the Queen make a decision and say, ‘yes you are going to get a divorce’.

“I think Harry would be foolhardy at this point to have a tell-all.

Meghan Markle accused of ‘abandoning’ royal duties by half-sister

“They’re in enough hot water with Finding Freedom.

“I think they would be foolhardy, absolutely crazy because it would not help their situation and it would certainly not help their situation with the British tabloids.

“I think a full-out war would be declared on them and I don’t think that should happen but that’s the last thing they should be doing.

“I think Harry should know better if he wants to broach any sort of reconciliation with his family.”

With the proceeds from the new deal, the Duke of Sussex has paid back the £2.4million of taxpayers’ money used to renovate Frogmore Cottage.

A spokesman for Harry confirmed the Duke had paid the bill in full by making a contribution to the Sovereign Grant.

The payment was made possible thanks to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new multi-million pound Netflix deal, a source said.

Harry’s spokesman said: “A contribution has been made to the Sovereign Grant by the Duke of Sussex.

“This contribution as originally offered by Prince Harry has fully covered the necessary renovation costs of Frogmore Cottage, a property of Her Majesty The Queen, and will remain the UK residence of the Duke and his family.”
