MEGHAN MARKLE, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry were forced to rearrange baby Archie’s christening after a string of Royal Family diary clashes, it is claimed.
The couple had originally planned to have his baptism on Friday, according to reports. But after realising both Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles had prior engagements, they had to alter the date to Saturday. According to the Daily Mail, Meghan and Harry had their heart set on the christening taking place today at Windsor Castle.
The plans had been made with Meghan’s mum Doria and the new godparents.
However, it soon became clear Archie’s great-grandmother and grandfather couldn’t make the date.
The family then moved it to Saturday to accommodate Charles.
A source said: “There is huge support for the couple in not wanting to conform to tradition.

“They are young, they are striking out on a different path from other members of the Royal Family and there is enormous goodwill for them.
“But they shouldn’t do that without regard for tradition.
“Her Majesty was already scheduled to be in Scotland for her annual Holyrood Week and had a prior engagement at the weekend.
“There is a feeling amongst some that they should have been more accommodating about the date.”

The Queen will be spending a long-planned weekend in Sandringham with husband Prince Philip.
Last year, she missed Prince Louis’ baptism.
She had hoped, the Daily Mail reported, to attend the christening of Harry’s first child.
The identity of Archie’s godparents still remains a mystery.
