Love Island runner-up Camilla Thurlow confesses she’s happy her romance with Prince Harry didn’t work out as she looks forward to the future with Jamie Jewitt
She previously confessed that a ‘lady never tells’ when asked about her previous relationship with Prince Harry during a truth or dare challenge on Love Island.
And now series runner-up Camilla Thurlow, 28, has admitted that she’s happy that her fleeting romance with the royal, 32, didn’t work out after meeting her hunky Calvin Klein model Jamie Jewitt, 27, on the ITV2 series.
Speaking to The Sun, the bomb disposal expert admitted that she didn’t want her previous high-profile relationship from 2015 before she entered the show to get in the way of finding her true prince charming.
She told the publication: ‘I didn’t want my past relationships in the spotlight to upset having a future with someone. I am very happy with Jamie right now.
‘It is nice that something that has happened in the past is in the past – I’ve had an opportunity to show people the person I am.’
Upon learning of her former flame, dashing Jamie insisted that he wasn’t surprised that his current squeeze had turned the head of the charming royal.
‘As much as Prince Harry is an impressive human being, I am not going to be intimidated by him,’ he weighed in. ‘I wasn’t at all shocked to hear she dated Prince Harry – Camilla is a very classy lady. It is her past and everyone has a past.’
It comes after Camilla revealed that she is planning to move in with her Island BFF Gabby Allen.
The pair and their respective partners lost out to Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies in Monday night’s final but grew close during their seven week stay.
As the reserved beauty is currently based in Scotland, she revealed that she was planning to move down to London to be nearer to new her partner.
She revealed: ‘It’s not necessarily that I live in that part of Scotland, it was my base because when I was travelling away and I needed somewhere that I could come back to. I think, and I’m hoping, that it is still the plan to have a base with Gabby here in London.’
When asked if they could get their own spin-off series, the beauty admitted: ‘That would be such a fun idea, I love Gabs she was my absolute rock in there, I just think we will be best friends for life now.’
It comes after ITV2 viewers were left in shock after she uttered the L-word to her partner Jamie on Monday’s final installment of the reality favourite.
Upon receiving a text from show producers about going prom dress shopping, the bomb disposal expert could be heard confessing ‘Love you, bye!’ as she ran off to indulge in a spot of retail therapy.
The reserved duo continued their gushing appreciation to one another as they declared their adoration during the prom night.
Looking into the Essex native’s eyes, she began: ‘Jamie, at the time that you arrived in the villa, I thought my romantic journey on Love Island was over. I truly believe there is not a single other person who could have walked in the door to make me change my mind.
‘I’m humbled on a daily basis by your ability to bring out the best in others and since you have been in the villa I have been able to show sides of myself to you that I have kept hidden for a very long time. Thank you.’
Responding to her endearing words, Jamie gushed about her loving and kind spirit infront of their fellow Islanders before they passionately kissed.
He read: ‘There are so many reasons writing something like this is so hard. Yet when you come to my mind it’s so easy to think of the amazing ways in which to describe you.
‘This may seem like a contradiction but the most endearing thing about you is you’re exactly that. The amazing contradictions in your character that make you so special.’
