MEGHAN MARKLE’S arrival into the royal family sent shockwaves through the establishment and Britain itself. Some love the way she has brought a refreshing modernity to the Windsors others feel she’s trampling on tradition – either way she’s a woman who sparks opinions!
She has rarely been out of the media since she first started dating Prince Harry in 2016 and three years on, the Duchess still seems to divide opinions like Marmite. Meghan Markle was yesterday criticised by Nigel Farage, in a stinging attack which also targeted Prince Harry and the late Queen Mother. While some rushed to her defence after Mr Farage branded her and Prince Harry ﾒirrelevantﾓ and accused Prince Harry of ﾒfalling off a cliffﾓ when he met Meghan, others chose to join in on the criticism.
Writing on Twitter, one critic said: “A pure example of someone socially beautiful on the outside but rotten at their core.”
Another wrote: “People need to start booing Meghan Markle publicly! I am getting tired of her day to day shenanigans.”
A third said: “Harry has become a wimp since marrying.”
And social media users aren’t the only ones to hurl abuse at the Duchess, with celebrities also joining the barrage of criticism.

Piers Morgan has been a fierce opponent of Meghan and vocally criticises her.
He recently took a swipe at her role as guest editor of Vogue’s September issue, which he says proves Meghan cares more about promoting herself than the Royal Family or Britain.
The GMB presenter has also mocked her parenting skills and quest for privacy.
Apprentice star turned media pundit Katie Hopkins is also one of Meghan’s most vocal critics, having dubbed her as “a budget Princess Di with an Oscar-winning innocent face”.

The criticism isn’t limited to just the UK however, with an Australian TV personality saying she thinks Meghan is “performing” when carrying out royal duties.
She wrote on Facebook: “For some reason, I still haven’t warmed to her.
“It’s her manner. She looks like she’s performing.”
“To me she looks like she’s portraying a concocted humility. Acting.”

But beyond the carping Meghan has a super-strong fan base who are quick to champion the new royal.
One fan was puzzled why Meghan receives so many negative comments, they Tweeted: “Meghan Markle is intelligent, articulate, tenacious.
“Few could doubt her passion for important issues like female empowerment, race or mental health.
“How has she managed to irk so many in so little time?”

Another user was similarly confused, and wrote: “Why are so many people hating on Meghan Markle?! I don’t understand… she is a strong, confident woman who has done so much for feminism over the years!
“Don’t put a strong woman down. Celebrate her.
“So what she has broken a few Royal rules. So what.
“It’s about time the Royal family received the shake up they are getting!”

A third asked: “Why are people making all these bad comments and giving negative criticism to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?
“They represent a new modern royal family that needs to be embraced.”
Meghan appears to have polarised much of the British public and that is unlikely to change.
But as a senior member of the royal family, married to the sixth in line to the throne, she is here to stay as an integral part to the British monarchy.
