Royal baby due date LEAKED? Bookies suspend odds after HUGE bet placed for THIS WEEK
BOOKMAKERS have suspended bets on the expected birth date of the royal baby, sparking speculation the Duchess of Cambridge is due to go into labour imminently.
Paddy Power today halted bets on the birth date of the royal baby after it reported a flurry of bets on Kate Middleton giving birth this week.
The sudden activity, which began on Monday, has forced the bookmaker to reject bets on the royal birth taking place on or before Sunday this week.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who is currently eight months pregnant, is due to give birth this month – although her precise due date is unknown.
Kensington Palace previously announced that the Kate Middleton’s third child would be born in April this year – but did not give a specific date.
But as of Sunday night, the odds for the royal birth to be born this week were 12/1.
A Paddy Power spokesman said: “The speculation around the arrival of the royal baby has been going into overdrive, and our punters certainly think it’s going to happen soon.
“We’re now convinced it’s going to be this week, and Mary is certainly the name of choice from our punters, who have been backing that name for months.”
While Ladbrokes has yet to suspend its bets, speculation is soaring with royal-watchers slashing the odds to 5/1 for the arrival of the royal baby this week.
The speculation of the arrival of the royal baby comes as officials closed off the road outside the Lindo Wing Monday morning.

Parking suspension signs have been placed outside the private maternity ward at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, Central London.
Barriers have also been put up on the surrounding streets to accommodate the journalists, television crews and photographers that are expected to gather once it has been announced that the Duchess of Cambridge has gone into labour.
Kate previously gave birth in the Lindo Wing to both Prince George, now four, and Princess Charlotte, who is two years old.
The exclusive wing is also the birth place of Prince William and Prince Harry.
