Disgraced Kevin Spacey ‘sat on Queen’s throne during private tour of Buckingham Palace’
KEVIN Spacey reportedly made a private visit to Buckingham Palace and sat on the Queen’s throne during a personal tour with the Duke of York.
Photographs were allegedly taken of the US actor breaching protocol by sitting on one of the thrones reserved for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
A source said: “Going anywhere near the thrones is a total no-no. If a member of staff did, there would be disciplinary action.
“The Queen would not have been amused.”
The visit happened while Mr Spacey was artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London, a position he held from 2004 to 2015.
There is no evidence to suggest that either Prince Andrew or Buckingham Palace were at the time aware of Mr Spacey’s alleged s*xual misconduct.
It is unknown whether or not the Queen was in residence when he visited.
Buckingham Palace confirmed he had visited Prince Andrew and said: “Buckingham Palace is home to a number of members of the royal family who, from time to time, host guests in a private capacity.
“We are not going to comment on speculation about any private meeting of any member of the royal family.”
However, sources close to Prince Andrew said he had no recollection of giving Spacey a palace tour, it has been reported.
The reports have come after Netflix earlier this month announced it will no longer work with Kevin Spacey as s*xual assault allegations against the actor mount.
The company has also canned the release of a movie starring and produced by him, a biopic of US writer Gore Vidal that was due for release next year.
In a statement, the streaming service said: “Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey.
“We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey.”
