KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge, reportedly struggled at school especially while boarding at Marlborough College in Wiltshire before attending St Andrew’s University to study the history of art where she met Prince William in 2001.
“She too struggled in her early school years and during her time at Marlborough college was bullied for being shy.”
Ms Thornton went on to explain the schooling of other royals. She said: “When it was time for the young princes to head to school, William and Harry broke tradition and attended Eton in Windsor, an institution famed for its high profile alumni including 20 British Prime Ministers.
“Despite his first-class education Harry gained just two A levels, a B in art and a D in Geography and went on to join the Army rather than pursue higher education.

“With three A levels from A-C grade, William opted to study at the University of St Andrew’s where he met Kate in 2001.
“William wasn’t settled at university and considered leaving but with some guidance from his dad and possibly Kate decided to switch courses from history of art to geography and saw out the three-year degree.
“Meghan Markle excelled at school and after graduating from Immaculate Heart Catholic school in Los Angeles, she attended Northwestern university where she gained a double major in theatre and international relations.
“Perhaps both useful in her current role.”

The revelation comes as Charlotte was given a surprising nickname during her time at Willcocks Nursery School, royal commentator Katie Nicholl has claimed.
The young royal, now known as Charlotte Cambridge, had a certain nickname earned by her “feisty” character at nursery.
Ms Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight: “The other nickname that she had when she was at Willcocks Nursery, which was up until just before the summer, was Warrior Princess.
“I’m wondering if that might be a nickname that will stick with her. Apparently she earned that nickname because obviously she is a Princess, but she’s quite a tomboy.

“She loves climbing trees and she’s very much an adventurer, she was quite known for her feisty personality.”
Earlier in the interview, Ms Nicholl also said: “Charlotte will be known as Charlotte Cambridge, so that will be her name when she’s called out on the register.
“But I suspect her friends will call her what most of her friends called her at Willcocks Nursery School, which is Lottie.
“That’s a name that her parents call her.”
