Kate Middleton follows in Meghan Markle’s steps as she too breaks the Queen’s STRICT accessory rule
Kate Middleton has decided to join Meghan Markle, and break royal fashion protocol.
Kate Middleton, as the wife of Prince William and the Duchess Of Cambridge, is required to follow certain fashion rules when out and about in public.
And while the mother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte rarely strays from the rule book, it appears new royal-to-be Meghan Markle has had an influence on her.
Prince Harry’s bride to have already broken a few royal fashion rules since her engagement to the Prince was announced on November 27 – including not wearing tights.
According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, the Queen requires the women in the royal family to wear nude stockings when out in public.
She explained to Insider: “You never see a royal without their nude stockings.
“I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires.”
Harpers Bazzar also reported: “Pantyhose, which is both for the weather and for etiquette reasons. For all royal events the Queen requires her family members, and her guests, to wear tights.”
However, Meghan wasted no time in forgetting this rule as she stepped out for the official engagement pictures with her husband to be, bare legged.
Posing with her future husband at The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace on November 27, 2017, the Suits actress wore a white coat with a pair of nude heels – with bare legs.
And it now appears this rebellious streak has rubbed off on the Duchess, who in her most recent appearance also ditched the stockings.
Stepping out the Reach Academy in London, Kate stunned in an all blue ensemble, with no sign of a nude tight on her.
It seems this isn’t the only element of Meghan’s behaviour which Kate has been taking inspiration from.
For example, Kate and Wills recently broke one of their own couple rules in public following the behaviour between the newly engaged pair, see what it was here.
