Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle PRAISED by Andre Agassi at Wimbledon
Former world number one tennis champ Andre Agassi has opened up about meeting the Duchess of Cambridge in a new interview.
The sporting star and his wife were sat next to Kate Middleton and Prince William in 2012 at the semi-finals of Wimbledon shortly after the couple’s royal wedding.
And while their meeting was over five years ago, Agassi can still clearly recall the Duchess’ charming personality.
“She was a complete doll,” Agassi told Hello at Wimbledon last week.
“I really thought she was incredibly pleasant. She was lovely.
“We didn’t chat a whole lot but she was lovely. I will not say anything else, because I don’t know what offends people here or not!”
Though Agassi says he was won over by Kate’s charm he admits that he is no royalist and struggles to understand the concept.
He continued: “Quite honestly I don’t get the whole royalty thing – in the sense that they’re celebrities on steroids or something.
“I can empathise with some of that, but it’s fascinating to watch from the outside. You have to be on your game all the time.”
When asked about Kate’s sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, he just said: “Rock on. I wish them nothing but the best.”
Royal fans will be hoping to catch a glimpse of Meghan at the London event this year.
The newly minted royal, 36, will watch pal Serena Williams face off in the tennis tournament sometime this week, according to reports.
She last attended in 2016, when she was seen in the same box as Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas.
