KATE, Duchess of Cambridge, has gained the respect of specialists thanks to her knowledge and continuous work, a source said.
Kate has become a more prominent presence within the Royal Family in recent months. The Duchess of Cambridge has already carried out several engagements this year, including taking part in a podcast, a tour to Ireland and a 24-hour dash across the UK.
In January, Kate also launched a nationwide survey, 5 Big Questions on the Under Fives, focused on the first five years of children, which contributed to deepening the knowledge of what Britons believe important to the development of youngsters.
Kate’s surge of activity in the past months has been attributed by some commentators to the upcoming departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who are to step down as full-time working members of the family at the end of the month.
However, according to a source, Kate’s flurry of solo engagements and projects focused on children is actually the result of years of work behind the scene.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s interest in understanding the link between the first five years of life and the issues suffered by some adults started even before she became a mother in 2013.
After years of personal research and the creation of a steering group in March 2018 to look at what can be done to make a positive difference to the lives of children, Kate is now considered an expert, according to a source.
As a respected authority in the field, many specialists are happy to work and listen to what Kate has to say on the topic, they continued.

Speaking to Stella, the Daily Telegraph’s lifestyle magazine, the source said: “She doesn’t just want to talk about this issue, but to build an evidence base for action.
“It’s easy to dismiss work on child development as nice and cuddly, but the social side of this is as significant as climate change.
“She’s worked away quietly and become an expert in the field.

“She understands the science and she’s now respected by the people in the sector because she’s spent years trying to work it all out.
“So it is only natural for people to want to hear more from her about it.”
With this authority, Kate, once weary of public speaking, also appeared to have acquired confidence.

One insider told Stella: “It sounds basic, but Kate’s built her confidence with her knowledge in this area.
“Public speaking is much easier when you’ve got something you want to talk about.
“And this is a subject she has not only spent a great deal of time researching, but that she cares passionately about.”
Last month, Kate candidly opened up on her pregnancies, labour and motherhood.

Taking part for the first time in a podcast called Happy Mum, Happy Baby, the Duchess of Cambridge chatted for more than half an hour.
Among the revelations made, Kate said she has made a treasure of her childhood memories with her “amazing granny”.
She continued: “I had an amazing granny who devoted a lot of time to us, playing with us, doing arts and crafts and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us.
“I try to incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now.”
