JULIA BRADBURY revealed her son’s cheeky comment about Meghan Markle after the former Countryfile host met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with her eldest child earlier this year.

Prince Charles makes appearance on Countryfile in 2013

Julia Bradbury, 48, met Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, when she hosted an event in honour of award-winning play The Wider Earth. The royal couple attended the gala back in February, which celebrated the life and discoveries of Charles Darwin, and highlighted Harry’s work with The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy. The former Countryfile presenter spoke exclusively about her time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Express.co.uk. Discussing her and her seven-year-old son Zephyr’s first impressions of the pair, she revealed: “It was lovely, they’re a very dynamic couple and I have a lot of respect for them.”

The star also recalled a fun moment from the evening between Zephyr and Prince Harry.

She divulged: “I actually met Harry and my little boy Zephyr got to high five with him.”

Julia then reflected on a cheeky comment her eldest child made about former actress Meghan, adding: “My son also said to me, ‘She’s [Meghan] very pretty isn’t she? She’s very beautiful,’ and I said, ‘Yes darling she is.’”

The presenter continued: “I think they’re a lovely couple and very engaging.

“They have a real presence when they come into a room and they’re smiley and talkative, which is lovely.”

Elsewhere, the Julia Bradbury Walks host took the opportunity to share her opinion of the new royal baby’s name.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced they would be naming their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor shortly after he was born on May 6.

In response, Julia explained she was surprised the couple’s choice wasn’t very “radical”.

The TV personality said: “I think it’s very cute, I was expecting something a bit more radical, actually, so I think it’s lovely.”

Julia also addressed the royal baby news on Instagram at the time.

While sharing a snap of herself alongside the duo at the gala with her 40,000 followers she wrote: “Who knew? It was a boy! Huge congratulations to @sussexroyal.

“It was such a privilege to meet the Duke & Duchess at the @thewiderearth gala night that I hosted earlier this year.”

She continued: “They were a truly sparkling & dynamic couple & it’s been lovely to see Harry’s obvious joy at becoming a parent.

“Having a child/children has been one of the most life-changing fulfilling magical experiences of my life, and I’m sure they’re going to relish every moment.”

Elsewhere, the mother-of-three got sentimental about her time working with her “favourite TV husband” Matt Baker, 41.

The star admitted she had a soft spot for The One Show host, who she presented Countryfile with for 10 years.

Julia gushed: “I hope that one day we get to do something again together, I really hope we somehow get paired back up.”
