Is Kate expecting a BOY? Telltale sign on shape of royal baby bump

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, could be expecting a baby boy if the shape of her burgeoning bump is anything to go by. With just a few weeks before the 36-year-old mother-of-two is due to give birth to her third child, speculation is mounting about the gender of the royal baby.

Kate and William claim to have not known the gender of either Prince George and Princess Charlotte before they were born, but tell-tale signs suggest the duchess could be expecting another prince.

When the duchess stepped out with members of the Royal Family for an Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, it was hard not to compare her bump with that of mother-to-be Zara Tindall, 36.

While Zara’s bump is spread out around her middle and hips, suggesting she is having a girl, Kate on the other hand has a royal baby bump which pokes out like a netball.

This could indicate that Kate and Prince William are likely to welcome a baby boy into the world, according to the Mail Online.

And this is because, on average, baby boys are larger when they are born, meaning the bump may be slightly more pronounced.

Kate, who is due to give birth within a few weeks, is now sporting a larger bump than any of her previous pregnancies at the same stage.

However, research suggests a woman’s bump is considerably smaller for her first child than in later pregnancies.

This is because a woman’s level of female hormone progesterone increases when they become pregnant, which happens more quickly in the second and third pregnancies.

Meanwhile, Zara, who is due three months after Kate, is showing all the signs she is welcoming another girl.

Zara, who is mother to three-year-old Mia, has displayed a classic girl bump – spread out around her middle and hips.

But according to research into data taken from 6,000 families, the Queen’s granddaughter is slightly more likely to have a boy than a girl.

This is because she has already had one girl.

The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to return to the private delivery suite at the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital, where she gave birth to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
