‘I knew Diana died BEFORE it happened!’ Woman eerily ‘predicted’ princess’ car crash
Everyone remembers where they were on the day Princess Diana died, but one woman claims that she had to live through that moment twice.
Princess Diana’s death on August 31 1997, shook the world and 20 years later after her untimely death, the world still remembers the tragedy.
Iris, 33, who wished to withhold her full identity for personal security reasons, was only 13 when she claimed she first found out about Diana’s death – a month before it happened.
She told Express co uk: “In the beginning of summer I spent a few weeks in the UK, near Bournemouth, and returned to Estonia before mid-July.
“We went to the summer house in Viljandi, Estonia, around July 20 to 25.
“I was 13 when I had the premonition/deja vu into the future – 14 when my grandmother told me [Diana] had died.
“My birthday is in August.”
Iris first shared her story on a Reddit post in 2014, where the platform guaranteed her anonymity.
“We didn’t have internet. We didn’t even have a connection at home,” she wrote in her post.
“We didn’t get any of our usual newspapers, only the local weekly newspaper, and I don’t remember why but we didn’t have a TV set that summer.
“But we did have a landline phone that my grandmother used to chat with her friends.”
I was 13 when I had the premonition/deja vu into the future
And yet about a month before Diana’s untimely car crash, her grandmother told her about the incident.
“I distinctly remember her telling me that Princess Diana had died in a car crash in the end of July,” she revealed.
“I was quite glum about it for a couple of weeks because I’d liked her and even collected newspaper clippings in a scrapbook.”
By the end of August, Iris was certain that Princess Diana had already passed away, but her world was rocked again once again on August 31.
She explained: “When my grandmother came on the morning of August 31 to tell me that Princess Diana had died I told her that she had already told me she died in a car crash about a month before.”
“And she said that I must be joking and it was impossible as it had happened that night.”
Looking back at that summer now, Iris is certain that what she remembers is exactly how things happened.
She dispelled all suggestions that her memory was playing tricks on her, or that she is confusing the memory with someone else’s death.
“Well, nobody else nearly that famous died within a few week period,” the young woman argued.
“Mother Teresa died after Princess Diana and I was back in school in a different town by then.”
She conceded that this would have been the easiest explanation for what happened, but remained adamant in her belief.
“It was so eerie and I have not forgotten or dismissed it so long because the moment I was told of her death was an exact deja vu down to the weather and phrasing.
“I don’t even know how to exp
lain the feeling of having the experience of already having grieved her.
“It still feels surreal and confusing.”
