PRINCESS CHARLOTTE is showing her independence from her parents and siblings in a very subtle way, a royal insider has claimed.
Princess Charlotte is said to be choosing her own clothes based on very defined ideas about her wardrobe. Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has swapped out smart and formal outfits for more practical clothes during lockdown at their rural Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall.
And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge allow Prince George and Princess Charlotte to choose what to wear themselves, according to a source.
And the only daughter of Kate and William appears to be very independent, with clear ideas when it comes to her wardrobe, the source added.
They told The Sun: “Both George and Charlotte are given options.
“They dress themselves from a selection for that morning, but their clothes tend to get changed at least once a day.

“Charlotte seems to have more definite ideas about how she will look each morning, but will change into something else dependent on the weather or her sporting activities.”
On the other hand, her two siblings – seven-year-old George and two-year-old Louis – don’t seem to care.
The source added: “Both George and Louis, two, do not seem to notice changes in weather or temperature – they just get wet and muddy and carry on.”

Speaking about what the little Cambridges like to wear at Anmer Hall, where they are free to play in the garden far from the public eye, the insider said: “George is more of a jeans boy rather than chinos and belts. His thick mop of hair is mostly unruly.
“Louis’ hair is often paint splattered, so he has to be kept away from the indoor furniture.
“Charlotte loves trendy denim dungarees, sawn off at the knees for ease of tree climbing.

“She loves a soft jumper too – all long sleeved in a palette of stone, pebble, grey or various Oxford and Cambridge blues.”
Kate and Prince William’s preference for more casual outfits outside of London was clear in the latest pictures of Prince George shared by Kensington Palace.
The third-in-line to the throne turned seven yesterday, a birthday marked by two snaps published online on the Cambridges’ social media channels.

In the first photograph, Prince George looked into the camera while leaning on what appeared to be a white wooden frame.
He wore the same clothes he donned in snaps taken in June to mark Prince William’s birthday – a brown polo shirt and dark blue trousers.
In the second picture, Prince George wore a camouflage t-shirt, seen by a few commentators as a tribute to his uncle Prince Harry and father Prince William, both of whom had a career in the Royal Army.

While the Cambridges have embraced a more relaxed style at Anmer Hall, where they have spent the lockdown, they would still get changed into more formal outfits if needed.
The source said: “If a charity food delivery is on the Cambridge agenda, the children will be cleaned up, hair washed and arrive looking more polished.”
