Duchess of Cambridge recycles navy dress for special Commonwealth Day call with NHS staff

KATE MIDDLETON opted to recycle an elegant navy dress during her appearance in a new BBC television show celebrating Commonwealth Day. Where did the Duchess get her look?

The sleek ensemble, verging on the edge of being off-shoulder, is not a new item.

Indeed, the Duchess has recycled the garment which she previously wore in 2019.

Designed by couture brand Eponine London, Kate first wore the dress for a charity event in London.

Though the latest images only show the waist up, previous images show the long-sleeve dress is belted around the centre, with a flattering flared, mid-length skirt.

The dress is no longer on sale on the Eponine London website.

However, other garments on the high-end retailer’s site can sell for as much as £2,000.

The mother-of-three has paired the classic look with a pair of simple, silver hoop earrings.

Kate chose not to wear a necklace, showing off the dress’ open neckline.

Meanwhile, her brunette locks tucked behind her ears in a sleek, sophisticated style.

Keeping the look neutral, the Duchess has opted for natural make-up in tones of nude and brown.

In footage from the BBC One programme, she can be seen alongside Prince William as the royal couple virtually chat with NHS workers who have aided the nation during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Duchess said it was “sad, almost” that it took the pandemic for frontline workers to be “backed and supported” by the public.

She said: “Here in the UK there has been masses of public recognition of the amazing work the frontline are doing and it is sad, almost, that it has taken the pandemic for the public to really back and support all of those working on the frontline.”

Joining her, Prince William also wore shades of blue and navy.

The future king can be seen wearing a light blue button-up shirt with a navy jumper.

He completes the sophisticated look with a navy blazer.

Speaking to an NHS worker, the Duke said: “We, Katherine and I have spoken to a lot of healthcare workers in the UK and around the world over the last year, and we hear your worries and concerns.

“Thank you for your time chatting to us about it.”

The Commonwealth, titled A Celebration For Commonwealth Day, will also see Charles and Camilla share their thanks for Commonwealth people during the pandemic.

Prince Charles is set to pay tribute to the “extraordinary courage and creativity” of the Commonwealth’s people.”
