It was a green-clad display of affection for Ireland’s day of days.

When it comes to being lucky in love, some might say Duchess Catherine and Prince William well and truly have the “luck of the Irish.”

On Sunday, March 17th stylish Kate stepped out in a full-green ensemble as she and husband Prince William attended a traditional St Patrick’s Day ceremony for Ireland’s day of days – and they couldn’t have looked happier to be there together.

The pair didn’t hold back in getting into the spirit of things either, handing out shamrocks to officers during the celebrations in Hounslow, London.
And while their public displays of affection were one thing, there was one accessory worn by the Duchess that we couldn’t keep our eyes off.

Indeed the Duchess was bestowed the honour of wearing the beautiful golden shamrock brooch, crafted by Cartier, originally presented to Princess Mary in 1961 and which has since been worn by Princess Anne and the Queen Mother.

Pairing the striking accessory with a fitting green Alexander McQueen coat and Lock and Co hat, her entire ensemble would well and truly fall out of the budget of us non-royal folk.

Despite this, Kate proved she was just like the rest of us (and the thousands of Irish natives celebrating that day) by sipping on glass of Guinness to mark the occasion.

In doing so, she also put those pesky pregnancy rumours to bed!

The day wasn’t short of sweet moments between Kate and William, who couldn’t seem to stop giggling together as the proceedings took place.
We can’t really blame them, the sun was shining, they have three beautiful children and just look at that Domhnallan Irish wolfhound/pupper! Too cute.

The couple have attended several St Patrick’s Day services over the years, but this one started off a little differently than others, with the pair leading a minute’s silence to pay respects to the victims from the terror attack in two Christchurch mosque’s which occurred two days previously.

On the evening of the attacks, the pair also released a statement along with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan sharing their condolences with the people of New Zealand.

“We have all been fortunate to spend time in Christchurch and have felt the warm, open-hearted and generous spirit that is core to its remarkable people,” the statement from Kensington Palace read.

“No person should ever have to fear attending a sacred place of worship… We know that from this devastation and deep mourning, the people of New Zealand will unite to show that such evil can never defeat compassion and tolerance.”

The pair are always a force to be reckoned with when putting on a united front, as was also apparent as they attended Commonwealth Day celebrations less than a week ago.

Wearing her bright red Catherine Walker button-down coat, Kate looked radiant next to William as the pair enjoyed the celebrations alongside Meghan and Harry.

Long may their glamorous team appearances continues.
