Planning a wedding is stressful but when the Queen is your grandmother and millions of people will tune in to watch the big day – the pressure is unimaginable.

So when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were ‘denied’ Frogmore House as their wedding reception venue, it will undoubtedly have thrown their plans into jeopardy.

According to the Express, the couple was advised by royal aides against the stately home in favour of a more ‘practical’ destination.

Instead, they have been offered St George’s Hall which is situated just one mile from their wedding venue.

A close source revealed: “One person who would have readily approved of their choice was the Queen, for whom Frogmore is a very special place.”

“The Queen would also have loved the family to see what had been done at Frogmore: the house has just been renovated by a group of friends as a 70th wedding anniversary gift to her and Philip.”

Meghan and Harry famously staged their engagement photographs in the 35-acre grounds of Frogmore Hall and it was reportedly a romantic spot where the pair enjoyed picnics whilst dating last summer.

Despite having been ‘denied’ their first choice of reception venue, other royal couples have wed there including Peter and Autumn Philips.
