Princess Beatrice in pictures: A look at Prince Andrew’s daughter on her 29th birthday
AS Princess Beatrice celebrates her 29th birthday today, here is a look at the fashionable Princess of York in pictures.
The Queen’s fifth grandchild is currently the seventh in line to the throne and is the second female royal in line after Princess Charlotte.
Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York – the first daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York – was born on August 8 1988 in London.
The young royal turned 29 today after she and her sister Princess Eugenie were recently spotted at the annual V&A and Harrods Summer Party in London.
Beatrice made sure she fitted in with the fashionable crowd by donning a risqué see-through dress paired with classic black stilettos.
She made another bold fashion statement at the Royal Ascot races where she stunned the crowds alongside her mother Sarah Ferguson.
Her racecourse dresses ranged from a light blue dress with a wide-brimmed hat to a sizeable feathered hat on day four.
Beatrice also presented the Queen and her horse Dartmouth with a silver trophy for wining the first prize in The Hardwick Stakes.
As part of her extensive royal duties, the Princess is a patron to a number of organisations and charitable causes.
Her charity work includes working towards better child welfare and education, as well as fronting her mother’s Children in Crisis foundation.
She was recently photographed in a horse drawn carriage at the annual Trooping the Colour Parade, were thousands of people gathered to celebrate the Royal Family.
Earlier in May she also spotted greeting some 8,000 guests who have attended the Queen’s first garden party of the year – a tradition which dates back to the 1860s.
We have managed to work together to bring our children up in a way that few others have been able to and I am extremely grateful to be able to do that
Even though Beatrice’s parents divorced in 1996, she is still often photographed with the Duke and Duchess and has a good relationship with her parents.
Prince Andrew told the New York Times in 2008: “We have managed to work together to bring our children up in a way that few others have been able to and I am extremely grateful to be able to do that.”
Last year she was pictured with her sister and father on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral, after attending a national service of thanksgiving to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Beatrice was also photographed with her mother at the 2016 Angel Ball hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.
She attended the gala in an ankle-height, navy blue dress with silver embroidery, while Sarah favoured a simple but elegant long, orange dress.
