Cheeky DJ slips Prince Harry his business card in bid to secure a set at royal wedding to Meghan Markle
‘We’ll DJ at your wedding,’ he shouted
A radio presenter slipped Prince Harry his business card in a bid to secure a DJ set at the royal wedding.
Jevanni Letford, a music journalist and DJ on Reprezent radio, handed his card over as Harry visited the studios in Brixton with fiancée Meghan Markle.
The amusing video clip shows Prince Harry taking the business card from Mr Letford, who is in the crowd, and placing it in his pocket.
“We’ll DJ at your wedding,” Mr Letford shouts after the royal, 33, and Harry turns to grin.
Posting the moment on Twitter, Mr Letford wrote: “Just slipped Prince Harry the old business card in a bid to secure that #weddingdj gig”.
The post has already received 303 likes and 117 retweets.
Mr Letford told the Standard: “I gave him my card and he asked what it was for, I said I’d like to DJ at his wedding and he smiled and put it in his pocket.”
During their visit to the radio station, which has launched the career of stars such as Stormzy and Jamz Supernova, Prince Harry and Ms Markle, 36, met other radio presenters and listened to a live broadcast using headphones.
The happy couple congratulated the radio staff, with Meghan saying: “I can see why your show is so popular. You’re so thoughtful and your approach is so engaging.”
The bride-to-be then made everyone laugh when she added: “I must tune in.”
The radio station set up a work programme 10 years ago in response to knife crime, which trains hundreds of young people every year in media and employment skills.
Today’s royal visit was the couple’s second official royal engagement after visiting a charity in Nottingham just days after announcing their engagement in November.
Dozens of well-wishers had been allowed into the building’s covered courtyard and they lined barriers as the couple walked past.
Prince Harry and Ms Markle are set to wed in May this year at St George’s Chapel at Windsor castle.
