Kate Middleton has amassed a jewellery collection worth over £600,000 since marrying Prince William
THE Duchess of Cambridge has amassed a jewellery collection worth over £600,000 since marrying Prince William in 2011.
From her sapphire and diamond engagement ring to her Cartier watch, Kate Middleton’s stunning jewellery collection is reported to be worth over half-a-million pounds.
According to new book How To Dress Like A Princess: The Secrets Of Kate’s Wardrobe, by Claudia Joseph, if her engagement ring, which previously belonged to Princess Diana, were to be commissioned today it would cost roughly £300,000.
The book’s author Claudia says: “Although people tend to focus on the incredible gems and tiaras that she borrows from the Queen,
“Most people will be amazed to see the extraordinary collection she has amassed since her marriage.”
“Not only did her husband give her Princess Diana’s fabulous engagement ring,
“But he has given her birthday, Christmas and ‘push presents’ [to mark the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte].”
Her Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch is reported to have been a gift from the Duke of Cambridge, and is said to be worth £4,600.
Meanwhile, the Duchess was seen wearing a large gold Cartier necklace, which features five yellow gold and diamon hoops and is said to be worth £55,000.
The £600,000 figure is also unlikely to include all of her jewellery.
A bracelet she wore in 2013 with a gold sequinned dress was said to have been gifted to her by Prince Charles and would have added £150,000 to the total value of her collection.
However, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s mother has also worn more “affordable” brands including Monica Vinader.
She was seen wearing a £1,950 necklace and £745 earrings from the brand in 2014.
