Catherine Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle will never wear wedges in front of the Queen, and this is the important reason why
Catherine Duchess of Cambridge loves a wedge but will ditch them for the Queen.
Kate Middleton is the queen of fashionable footwear, whether she’s stepping out in a court heel, a sporty trainer or a strappy sandal.
The Duchess Of Cambridge is also a huge fan of the wedged heel, especially when attending events on grass or sand.
Over the years, Prince William’s wife’s navy and camel wedges have made several appearances, but never when the Queen is around.
This is something the mother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte does, as she is aware of Her Majesty’s preference towards them.
According to Vanity Fair, the 91-year-old monarch does not like the comfy shoe.
A source told the publication: “The Queen isn’t a fan of wedged shoes.
“She really doesn’t like them and it’s well known among the women in the family.”
Being the perfect granddaughter-in-law, Meghan Markle’s soon to be sister-in-law ensures she never steps out in the platform shoes when the Queen is around.
Meghan Markle, set to become part of the royal family this year, will also have to avoid the footwear design for future outings with Her Majesty.
However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Meghan opted against the rules, having done so regularly since being engaged.
