EXCLUSIVE: Camilla drops BIG hints she is warming up to be QUEEN
CAMILLA is using the Commonwealth Games to warm up for becoming Queen, Daily Star Online can reveal.
Prince Charles’ wife has dropped several big hints she is readying herself for the major role.
And she is even copying the Queen Mum in an apparent desperate bid to win the public round to the idea.
Body language expert Judi James came to these shock conclusions after studying her time Down Under this week.
“Will Camilla be the next Queen of England? Her body language and PR branding at the Commonwealth Games would confirm unreservedly to me that she will without any doubt,” she told Daily Star Online.
Revealing the big hints Camilla dropped after touching down in the Gold Coast, Judi told us the Duchess appeared to be a different woman.
“From her arrival in Australia we saw a very even-handed royal double act with Camilla even taking the lead at times rather than lagging behind reluctantly and waiting to be invited to join in by her husband as she has in the past,” she said.
“Although the opening ceremony took a casual theme, meaning Camilla wore an informal dress and no hat, her arrival appearances in Australia might have given powerful clues about the type of Queen she intends to be.
“Camilla has developed a new status confidence and uses signals of elevated status that would seem to announce the fact that she will be Queen in her own right, rather than Charles’s consort.
“She led the royal wave at one point, standing apart from and slightly to the front of Charles as she did so and she mainly went solo on her crowd walkabouts rather than lurking by the Prince’s side as she might have done in the early days of their relationship.
“Camilla’s regal styling and body language seems to be copied, not from the Queen, but from the Queen Mother.
“That most royal of royals had her signature styling or large-brimmed hat and matching, loosely skimming dress in soft but eye-catching pastels and Camilla’s mint-green outfit complete with pearls was an exact lift of the look.
“Camilla will be Queen without any doubt”
“Camilla carried the same classic handbag and she also seemed to mimic the Queen Mother’s kindly, gracious-looking smile (although she’s yet to master the knack of keeping it in place 24/7 on royal outings).”
Judi revealed Camilla even gave a Royal wave at one point that was almost identical to the Queen Mum’s, indicating preparations for taking on the big role when Charles becomes King.
“Even Camilla’s royal wave had something of the 90 degree angle arm bend that could signal a return to the more formal gesticulations of the previous Queen, who was openly adored by her grandson Prince Charles,” she said.
“The Queen Mother took centre stage to deflect some of the attention away from her shy, stammering husband and Camilla might see herself in a similar role to support her often self-pitying and uncomfortable-looking husband.
“In the past she has been seen using reassuring and cheering body language displays with Charles but combined with low-status posture and positioning, but her future role as Queen might see her stepping out to the front of the double act as she did for some of the time in Australia.
“While Charles mimicked his father’s behind-the-back hand clasp during the opening ceremony, Camilla stood almost to attention in a confident and dominant pose with her arms straight down at her sides and chin lifted.”
The huge hints were dropped in the fact of fury from Aussies, who have been – in huge numbers – using the Royal visit to call for the Monarchy to be abolished.
The couple appeared to make matters even worse when they took to the VIP box at the Games’ opening ceremony, as – while athletes from all over the Commonwealth paraded in front of them – they appeared to rarely lift a smile.
Eagle-eyed viewers took to social media to slam the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall for “looking miserable” and “uninterested”.
Among the comments were “could Charles and Camilla look any less interested?” and “Prince Charles and Camilla are like ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’”.
When Daily Star Online previously contacted Clarence House for comment on Camilla becoming Queen, a spokeswoman said: “There has been no update on this issue from Clarence House since the statement that was issued at TRH wedding in 2005.”
The said-statement was: “It is intended that Mrs. Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne.”
