CAMILLA, Duchess of Cornwall has given unprecedented access to her extraordinary life for the very first time as she gives a detailed insight in a tell-all documentary about the Royal Family.
Camilla, 72, is centre-stage in a feature film which has followed the wife of the heir-to-the-throne for a whole year as she embarked on royal engagements both in the UK and oversees. The special documentary titled ‘The Real Camilla’ will give royal fans a rare insight into the finer details of the 72-year-old’s marriage to Charles and her personal relationship with Prince William and Prince Harry over the past three decades. Ahead of its release on True Royalty TV next month, producer Juliet Rice has spoken of the “historical misconception” of Camilla throughout her turbulent years in and around the monarchy.
Camilla formally entered the Royal Family following her marriage to Charles at Windsor’s Guildhall in 2005 – 30 years before their first reported romance.
The couple first set eyes on each other in the 1970s after reportedly being introduced by a mutual friend at a polo game.PROMOTED STORY
Charles later married Princess Diana in 1981 before their flawed marriage officially ended 15 years later in 1996.

Just a year later, the world mourned the death of Diana after she tragically died in a car crash in Paris.Ms Rice, after shooting the documentary with Camilla has reflected on that period and stated how she overcame the initial backlash and into a “great matriarch of the royal family”.
She told Fox News: “There’s been this historical misconception about Camilla because of the circumstances surrounding Prince Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana.

“There’s a lot of misconceptions about what really went on there and throughout all that coverage, the ‘80s and beyond, she’s never said a word. We didn’t talk to her about that, but it was nice to see her as a human, a relatively normal human being.”
She added: “As the years go on, she’s becoming a great matriarch of the Royal Family. I think she has become a great support system for the younger royals.”
Charles and Camilla have now been married for 14 years and Mr Rice said one of the keys to their success is they have “great fun together”.

She added the royal couple “support each other brilliantly” and have become “a really strong double act”.
She said: “Everyone in the film said she’s absolutely his rock. She’s also very down-to-earth. She’s a real British countrywoman. She loves her dogs, she loves her horses, she likes her gardening and she’s incredibly relatable for that reason. She’s not grand in any way.
“And she’s also a real giggle. She and Charles have great fun together, which is one of the best ingredients for a good marriage.”
Several close friends and family of the royal household also feature in the documentary including national treasure Joanna Lumley, who told the producer, the Duke of Sussex and Duke of Cambridge “adore” Camilla.
Ms Rice said: “She’s said that she’s seen all of this horrible press, all of this drama. But what gives her a sense of calm is that she knows the boys actually get on really well with her. William and Harry adore her. And her children get on extremely well with William and Harry.”
The producer also revealed how initially Camilla was reluctant to take part but stated she was “greatly pleased” by the documentary as it “shows her to be this incredibly decent human being”.
‘The Real Camilla’ will be aired on True Royalty TV on August 1.
