MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have settled in Canada following their step back as senior royals. This is when the Sussexes will next return to the UK. Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, have decided to make North America their home as they carve out a new life from themselves away from the royal bubble. While the couple have not confirmed how often they will return to Britain in future they are due back in the country for this date. Meghan and Harry are expected to raise their nine-month-old son Archie Harrison in Canada while holding onto their UK base, Frogmore Cottage. The couple will cease to be official working royals in spring but ahead of relinquishing their roles they have been asked back to Britain at the start of next month. The Queen has requested Meghan and Harry to be present for the annual Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey on March 9.

The service will be attended by representatives from the 53 Commonwealth nations and will be particularly meaningful for Meghan and Harry given their decision to make Canada their home. Last year Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were among other senior royals to attend the event. This year the service could be the last time the royals are reunited for an engagement before Meghan and Harry step back entirely.

Meghan and Harry are expected to use the whistlestop visit as a final chance to wrap up loose ends in the UK before returning to Canada long-term. Last week the Sussexes were reported to have attended a JP Morgan conference in Miami. Harry is said to have delivered a speech at the event in which he opened up about his mental health and admitted to being in therapy. While it is not confirmed whether Harry was paid to deliver the address the couple could earn a living speaking at corporate events in future. From April Meghan and Harry will be free to pursue their own income as they cease to receive funding from the Crown Estate. The couple have pledged to pay back the £2.4 million of taxpayers money spent on Frogmore Cottage renovations, following their withdrawal. Prince Charles is expected to continue to financially support the couple as they find their feet. The Sussexes’ situation will be reviewed by the palace in a year’s time.
